Why do People Love Geometric Shapes in Jewellery

Posted by Alison Lush on

So, why do people love geometric shapes in Jewellery?  I have often asked myself this question as since I started making jewellery over 20 years ago, I have always had a collection or range of geometric jewellery.  Is it nostalgia for growing up in the 70's or 80's?  The love of art deco?  But geometric jewellery goes way back even before Anglo Saxon and Roman times.  It's part of our DNA. I also have a few ideas, but I maybe biased as I love geometric jewellery. You can wear it for any occasion and it goes with anything Weddings, for...

Hope and Curiosity - My Dad Inspired Me

Posted by Alison Lush on

To be honest my Dad has always been a hero to me.  My Mum was the creative inspiration and why I started my jewellery business.  But after losing my Mum over 14 years ago, I have developed a closer bond with my Dad and the more I get to know him, he just fills me with more love and inspiration. Valentines! Do you buy a little something for yourself (or is it just me)!

Posted by Alison Lush on

Valentines Day is coming around again.  It's time for me to treat myself to something nice.   I actually do this for my birthday and at Christmas too.  Well,  I am an independent woman after all.  If I want something, I never wait for someone to buy it.  I just get it, right! I was wondering if this is what you do?  Am I alone in this? I always find Valentine's Day a funny one.  There is so much pressure for your other halves to treat you, pamper you and buy you that special something (or even propose). Are they...

How to Find the Right Size Bangle for your Wrists

Posted by Alison Lush on

If you want to make sure that you get the right size bangle just follow these easy steps. 1.  If you have a bangle that already fits then just measure the inside diameter.  This is normally around 6 to 8cm.  Just measure from left to right straight across the middle (see below)   Note: make sure the bangle you are measuring is completely round otherwise your size will not be accurate. 2.  To measure your hand get your small finger and bring it that together with your thumb.  Take a tape measure and put it around the widest part of...
